Service Description

Ages 14+ Spend an afternoon creating a set of funky, handmade ceramic spoons that double as art! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn simple hand-building techniques to shape and design 2–4 unique ceramic spoons, depending on the size and style of your creations. From whimsical shapes and sculptural handles to playful textures and decorative details, this workshop is all about creativity and self-expression. Make a coordinated set or let each spoon have its own personality. Your finished spoons can be used as salt spoons, jam spoons, coffee scoops, sugar spoons, condiment servers, tea stirrers, or simply displayed as small works of ceramic art. You'll have time to personalize your pieces with underglaze colours and surface decoration before leaving them with us for glazing and firing. After the workshop, we'll take care of glazing and firing. Perfect for creative beginners, food lovers, gift-makers, and anyone who enjoys adding a little handmade charm to everyday rituals. What's included: - Clay - Tools - Firing PICK UP: Pottery takes time to dry, glaze and fire. Please allow the studio 4-6 weeks from the final class date to fire your pottery. You will be contacted via email. PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person. If your piece cracks or breaks in the kiln, don’t stress, it happens! Pottery is a delicate process, and things like trapped moisture, uneven compression, fast drying, or kiln quirks can cause it. We do everything we can to prevent it, but sometimes it’s just part of the process. Think of it as part of the journey. It happens to even the pros, and every piece is still a learning experience.
