6-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Course Come play on the wheel! Over 6 weeks, we’ll explore basic throwing, trimming, handling, and glazing. It’s hands-on, relaxed, and a chance to make pieces you’ll actually love using or giving. No stress, no strict rules, just a space to get creative and try new techniques. To maintain a high-quality, hands-on learning experience, this class is designed for up to 8 students with solo instruction. I love keeping classes small so everyone gets hands-on help. If we fill beyond 8 students, I’ll have an assistant on hand to make sure nobody misses out on guidance. Week 1: Cylinders – Learn wedging, centering, and throwing basic cylinders. Week 2: Bowls – Practice opening forms and shaping small bowls. Week 3: Trimming & Handling – Trim leather-hard pieces and learn safe handling techniques. Week 4: Mugs & Small Vessels – Pull cylinders, add slight flare, and practice basic handles. Week 5: Trimming & Refining – Refine mug bases and earlier pieces, improve shapes. Week 6: Glaze & Finishing – Explore glazing techniques and add finishing touches. Skill level: Beginner to intermediate SCHEDULE: Every Friday from January 23 - Feb 27 **Finished pieces will be available approximately 4 weeks after last class. Ages 14+. Price is $315 per person. Clay, use of glaze, and tools are included.
